THE MAKE IT FAIR PROJECT

I am very proud to have been the one of the producers of #makeitfair - a call for gender equality in the stories we tell, the wages we earn, and the future we shape. Our video displayed the talent and passion of more than 70 women including Rita Wilson, Mamie Gummer, Annie Parisse, Kathleen Chalfant, Jessica Hecht and Orfeh, as well as an all-female production team, underscoring the wealth of female talent that often goes untapped. We hoped we might raise awareness, force people to hold themselves better accountable, celebrate female talent, and broaden the scope of the stories being told.

We were fortunate to get a lot of media coverage when the video went live in April 2015, but this was one of my very favorite pickups:

The work to end sexism, ageism, misogyny, and all the other -isms that have been profitable since the inception of Hollywood will not come from the women whose names we know. They will come from each and every one of us voicing our opinions and taking action against skewed portraits and tipped scales. Let's go further than just making it fair, let's make it happen.
