NATURAL SHOCKS

A woman is sitting on a chair on a wooden stage, gesturing while talking to an audience, with a laptop on a small table in front of her and props behind her. The background is a green gradient.

In the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, Lauren Gunderson (the country’s most produced playwright) launched the “Natural Shocks National Project,” a national campaign of theatre activism that coincided with the 19th anniversary of Columbine and the 2018 National School Walkout. The Project offered over 100 royalty-free benefit readings of Gunderson’s play Natural Shocks across 45 states. I had the privilege of producing the NY reading featuring Kathy Najimy, to raise funds for the Ms. Foundation's gun and domestic violence prevention programs.
